Wild West Alive at the Autry
On Sunday April 22nd the California Art Club closed their 101st Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition at the Autry National Center with a Paint-out/Sculpt-out on the grounds of the Museum. Nearly 100 painters and sculptors, including ALFA Artists Peter Adams, Christopher Slatoff, Tim Solliday, and Jove Wang, traveled back in time to the Wild West in 1885. There were more than a dozen live models donning replica period costumes posing in a series of recreated vignettes that were captured on canvas and in clay en plein air!

ALFA Artist Tim Solliday Featured in Western Art & Architecture Magazine
One of American Legacy Fine Arts’ master artists, Tim Solliday, has a feature article entiteled Physics and Poetry published in the April/May issue of Western Art & Architecture Magazine. The article focuses on the artists who inspired his unique style as well as his philisophical beliefs on what makes good art.
“The greatest painters always had the same principles in everything they did, a
philosophical point of view in everything they painted, and that was this truth
and beauty concept.”

Success at the LA Fine Art Show!
Anne Decker, Elaine Adams and
Stephanie Campbell at the
2012 LA Fine Art Show
The ALFA Team had a wonderful time at the Los Angeles Fine Art Show held at the Los Angeles Convention Center; the opening night premiere party was a blast, and we saw so many friends and made so many new ones over the five day event! We were so pleased to be able to showcase all of our master artists with such avid art appreciators. In addition to getting to know the exhibition attendees we also enjoyed spending time with our neighboring gallerists! Being that it was our first time participating at the annual Los Angeles Fine Art Show, it was very comforting to see the great response the paintings and sculptures received.

Your Weekly Art Escape
This week’s art escape, Paris Sous la Pluie, by AlexanderV. Orlov transports us to the romantic Latin Quarter of Parisin the rain. The city alone is one that never fails to charm, and as captured here in this scene, Paris in the rain truly embodies l’amour. Among the gray tones, our eye is led to the single bright blue umbrella and the couple sheltered beneath it as they stroll tenderly together in solitude.
